What do we offer?

Firstly, one needs to understand what it is that we are offering and what we are not.

This is not a cryptocurrency project. It is a blockchain project.

What is the difference?

Blockchain is not the same as cryptocurrencies. The fact that cryptocurrencies use blochain is because the blockchain technology is well suited to the purpose, but just like

“All cows are bovines but not all bovines are cows”,

the same is for crypto and blockchain. Although you might be tempted to think cryptocurrency when hearing blockchain like thinking cow when one says bovine, this is where we draw the difference.

The Blockchain is a system of recording in a way that makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack or cheat the system. A blockchain is essentially a digital ledger of transactions centralized or de-centralized that is duplicated and distributed across the entire network of computer systems on the blockchain.

Blockchain is fundamentally the system used for crypto currencies namely bitcoin, but the world is waking up to the possibilities of blockchain in other forms and realizing its use case is beyond crypto, while crypto currencies are very private by design, the blockchain in its naked form is a very transparent system and lends itself to the way food Is positioning itself in a transparent space.

So, what is ChefChain?

Chefchain is the blockchain for food, specifically designed for the food industry because we believe that the food industry has the most to gain from the adoption of the blockchain, Chefchain gives access to everyone from suppliers, producers, growers, chefs, processors, and customers, allowing equal access to this world changing tool, but we don’t see the blockchain as lines from end to end like the private blockchains, we see Chefchain as a web, where lines cross and supply chains meet, on Chefchain these interactions are opportunities for all businesses large & small, our goal is to create a woven fabric of companies that interact with each other on the blockchain, creating solid and immutable ties like the blocks on the blockchain.

How does the food world gain from the blockchain overall?

The food industry will be one of the primary benefactors of the global blockchain adoption, from access to real time data to supply chain management, food safety, traceability and equal accountability across the food chain, this incredible tool holds the possibility to revolutionize the food industry and deliver the transparency that the next generation of consumers.

  • Blockchain is a specific type of database.
  • It differs from a typical database in the way it stores information; blockchains store data in blocks that are then chained together.
  • As new data comes in it is entered into a fresh block. Once the block is filled with data it is chained onto the previous block, which makes the data chained together in chronological order.
  • Different types of information can be stored on a blockchain but the most common use so far has been as a ledger for transactions.
  • In Bitcoin’s case, blockchain is used in a decentralized way so that no single person or group has control—rather, all users collectively retain control.
  • Blockchains do not need to be decentralised.
  • We help promoting blockchain in a new vision.
web of chains

Connection is the key

With the unique way of how chefchain works, one can create a web of connections between blocks. not only as a linear connection but as a web. This will enable to leverage the cascade effect, where from the first block, one can navigate to the last ones.

Our explorer allows for block mapping, this unique feature allows a user to navigate in a multidimensional way across the blockchain, looking at how a block is used by other blocks or how that block uses other blocks.

A chain becomes a web

This is how chefchain links also to external chains

Our mission is not to superseed or to englobe other blockchains, but to be a means to bring them together. Linking produces, products, people and even private/public blockchains together.

Bring your business out of the proverbial stone age

First and foremost our mission is to promote adoption of the Blockchain in the food-space at all levels.
We passionately believe the nature of the Blockchain has the possibility to provide the data that can lead to solving the big problems in the food chain, And that transparency will place the power into the hands of the chefs, producers & consumers.
by promoting the blockchain as a tool and demonstrating  its potential in the food-space, we want the food industry to realize the value and reap the many benefits of this powerful tool.

The blockchain is expected to become mainstream in 2025-26, currently large corporations such as Walmart, Albert Heijn & Carrefour are seeing the game changing benefits and building private, closed blockchains to manage their supply chains. It might be possible to connect with a single block on this chain, but you can’t explore or search these blockchains because they are closed off from the global network, Chefchain is open and searchable, this gives the user the possibility to connect and search for others on the platform and establish a trusted presence on the blockchain, it will allow you to build up credibility and request connection with the single blocks in the private networks. But ultimately its about the ability for everyone to use the blockchain and grow through established and trusted contacts and the transparency it brings.

We build innovation & excellence

We believe that the food chain should be driven and controlled by consumer choice, a consumer that makes choices that benefit the food chain through pure data, rather than voodoo marketing.
A level playing field for everyone, where consumers get the value they deserve, farmers & growers get to keep a bigger slice of the pie and re invest and innovate to meet the demands of the end user.
